My Monthly Favourites - March 2014

Hi guys. It's that time of the month again where I share with all of you what I have been loving beauty wise all throughout March. I have gone a little crazy recently in terms of buying new products - there have been a lot of amazing deals on the high street that were just too good to pass up! Furthermore, a lot of these items are relatively new favourites, apart from one product that I re-discovered and have fallen back in love with. So, without any further ado, let's dive right in!

Dove Go Fresh Nourshing Body Wash Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Scent - £2.40
First up is a body wash from the Dove 'Go Fresh' collection. After loving one of the other washes in the collection, which was featured in my February favourites (which you can read here,) I decided to give another scent ago. Whilst I was in Sainsbury's recently, there was a half price offer on, so I snapped up two more; Revive and one other scent which I am sure I will talk about on my blog soon. Every product I have ever tried from Dove has been really gentle on the skin and extremely moisturising at the same time, and this product is no exception. However, of course the main reason I love this body wash is the scent. The pomegranate and lemon verbena smells absolutely amazing and is a lovely pick-me-up in the morning. I cannot recommend this range enough!

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Whimsical - £7.99
Next is a product that has been raved about ever since it's release here in the UK back in January. Both the Revlon Lacquer Balms and Matte Balms have taken the drugstore by storm and it's no surprise as to why - they are seriously amazing! The newest lip crayon in my collection is 'Whimsical,' which is a lovely berry pink/purple shade that contains lots of little flecks of glitter too. Although the glitter can feel slightly grainy on the lips from time to time, it's pretty easy to ignore because the colour pay off and the formulation of this product is great. After it has been on your lips for a while and has started to wear off, Whimsical leaves a subtle stain too the lips too - which is perfect if you are after a product that is long-lasting and great for a night out.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan 9-in-1 BB Perfector in Light Matte - £6.99
I have recently done a full review of this product on my blog (read here,) so I am not going to go into too much detail. However, I am seriously in love with this instant tan! I am not an avid tanner and I am always dubious of using fake tan in case it goes horribly wrong, so a wash off one is right up my street! This instant tan and BB cream hybrid gives an amazing bronzed colour to the skin whilst hiding any imperfections really well - such as scarring or uneven skin tone. It glides onto the skin seamlessly and does not cling onto any dry patches of skin, even if you do not exfoliate beforehand - which I accidentally did. For a mere £6.99, this product is definitely worth trying if you like having a tan for special occasions without having the commitment of a fake tan that develops and is ore permanent!

Essie Nail Polish in Splash Of Grenadine - £7.99
All I can say is... this nail polish is gorgeous! This may come as a surprise to some of you but I have only ever owned one Essie nail varnish, which is one of the nail effects glittery top coats. So, this is the first normal Essie product that I have tried. I heard about this colour after watching one of Essiebutton's videos and I wanted to to give it a try immediately. 'Splash Of Grenadine' also reminded me of a L'Oreal Color Riche polish I had that dried out called 'Acid Watermelon,' which is almost identical. This beautiful shade is a vivid orchid colour which is extremely eye-catching and perfect for this time of year. Plus, this colour is deemed to be huge this spring/summer, so this polish will keep you on trend too which is always a bonus!

Palmers Eventone Dark Spot Corrector - £9.99
Last but certainly not least is an old favourite that I re-discovered whilst having a product clear out! Last year, I had a lot of scarring left on my cheeks after multiple ghastly breakouts. So, I decided to look for a product other than Bio Oil that could banish the dark pigmentation left on my skin. Palmers Eventone Dark Spot Corrector was my product of choice and my god, it's amazing! Within weeks, my scarring had gone down significantly and I was left seriously impressed. However, along with correcting dark areas, this moisturiser/serum is great for brightening your entire face too as it features vitamin C in its list of ingredients. The only thing I would say is that this does leave a film of glitter all over your skin, so it is best used at night time unless you want a sparkly base to apply your make-up on top of!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my March favourites, I have definitely fallen in love with all of these products! Have you tried any of these before? What beauty items have you been reaching for this month? Please let me know in the comments below! Thank you :)

My Monthly Favourites - February 2014

Hi guys. It's that time of the month again for me to talk about my monthly favourites. I always forget that February is the shortest month of the year, so this has come around so quickly! I have bought a couple of new items recently, as well as discovering an old favourite so I have a lot of recommendations for you all. So, on that note, let's get started!

First up is this Dove body wash. I have never featured a body wash on my blog before because let's face it, they aren't all that interesting! Although, I think I have become addicted to this one in particular. I have always been a fan of Dove as a brand because all of their products have great moisturising properties that do not dry out my skin in the slightest. However, the main reason I love this product is simply the scent. The combination of plum and sakura blossom (,a fancy name for cherry blossom,) smells divine. In fact, the whole Go Fresh line has a lovely range of scents and I have pretty much tried all of them. I will definitely be re-purchasing this body wash again in the future, I cannot get enough.

Next up is a product that had been forgotten about in the back of my drawer for a little while now. I am a huge fan of sea salt sprays as they give great texture for my fine hair, especially when I have my hair in loose, beachy curls - which I do most days. I bought this spray in Sainsbury's, which coincidentally is the only place I have ever seen it being sold, to replace my Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray. The reason for this is purely because I wanted a cheaper alternative to the Toni & Guy version, even though I do prefer that one by a slight margin. Never the less, this spray does an excellent job and I thoroughly recommend it.

This product is probably my favourite out of the bunch this month. Since it's release, this product has been extremely hyped up in the beauty blogging world but for good reason! After contemplating for at least 15 minutes about which shade to try first, I finally settled on 'Standout' - a dark, cherry red shade. My main concern about this matte balm was that it would really dry out my lips and cling to any flaky patches, however, it doesn't at all. It glides on so nicely and sits really well on lips, plus I love the colour! It is also so long-lasting, to the point where I only had to top it up once whilst I was out clubbing last weekend. In addition to this, I think the matte packaging is a nice extra touch by Revlon, so that you can easily differentiate between the these and the lacquer balms that have also been released. I highly recommend this balm to anybody who hasn't got around to trying them yet (where have you been?) It's definitely a toss up between the colours 'Elusive' or 'Sultry' as to which shade I try next.

Another great yet inexpensive product that I have been loving this month is this Nivea day cream. The reason behind this purchase was because the other week I had a terrible cold which left my skin really dry, especially round the nose area. Due to the fact that my skin is usually oily, I tend to stick to my Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser but it just wasn't rich enough to treat those dry areas. Although this is a day cream I have been using at night time as it is very thick and rich, therefore its not good to use prior to applying makeup. Even after one night, my skin was so much softer and the dryness had already started to fade. Now after a week of using the cream, my skin is so supple and there is not a dry patch in sight. Not only this but strangely, my skin is now really clear and I have no blemishes at all. I don't know if this is merely a coincidence but hey, I'm happy! This is a great cream which will definitely now have a permanent place in my skin care regime.

Last but not least is this gorgeous highlighter from Topshop. I have only just written a review of this product on Monday (click here to read,) so I am going to keep this review short and sweet. This product is a cream highlighter which blends seamlessly due to it's texture. It adds a lovely luminosity to the skin and it looks beautiful on the tops of your cheekbones. It is quite a glittery highlighter so I am going to use it more at night time when I go to parties or out clubbing etc, as it certainly isn't subtle but I love that look! This is the first makeup product I have ever purchased in Topshop and I will definitely be buying more in the future!

So, that's it for this month! I hope you enjoyed reading about my February favourites. Which products have you been loving over the past month? I would love to know what you have been reaching for! Thank you :)

My Monthly Favourites - November 2013

Hi guys! It's that time of the month again where I show you what I have been loving product-wise throughout November. It's hard to believe that Christmas is now upon us and as cliché as it sounds, this year has gone ridiculously fast! This is my second ever monthly favourites post which is rather shocking seeing as I have been blogging now for eight months now. The reason I held off for so long is because I go through stages where I do not really buy any new products and so I often run out of things to review. However, with that being said, I am going to try my best to be consistent and do my favourites every month without fail but do bear with me if I do skip a month. Now, let's get straight to my much loved products of November!

Dove Intensive Nourishment Hand Cream  - £3.49
Seeing as we are right in the midst of winter, the cold and bitter weather is upon us and as you all know, this can cause havoc with your skin making it much drier and troublesome. However, I think that many of us neglect our hands at this time of year. Recently, I have been using this hand cream from Dove that I got as part of a gift set a while back. As you can imagine, this product does exactly what it says on the tin (or tube, rather!) I tend to slather this cream on before I go to bed at night time and surprise, surprise; I wake up with nourished and soft hands. I really recommend this product as it is cheap, widely available in drugstores and most of all - it works!

Essie Luxe Effects Nail Polish in 'A Cut Above' - £7.99

Whilst I was in Boots with my Mum the other week, I was browsing down the make-up aisles when I came across this lovely nail varnish at the Essie stand. This polish is part of Essie's limited edition 'Luxe Effects' range which also features four other glittery top coats; 'As Gold As It Gets,' 'A Stroke Of Brilliance,' 'Pure Pearlfection' and 'Set In Stones.' I was drawn to this one in particular due to it's gorgeous pink/rose gold colouring. Although this product is advertised as a top coat, I built up a couple of coats of the polish on my nails to make them entirely sparkly and opaque. The end result is stunning and it lasted on my nails for over a week! The only problem I found was removing it; it took me about twenty minutes of vigorous scrubbing with pure acetone to get every scrap of it away but do not let that put you off, it's definitely worth it!

The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Body Butter - £13.00

Next up is the ever-so-popular body butter from The Body Shop, which I received as a gift from my friend Sydney. I own a couple of different body butters as I am a bit of a moisturiser hoarder. I never seem to finish one bottle or tub before I move on to the next one - I think I like to alternate between them depending on my mood or the time of year. The 'Vanilla Bliss' scent is a limited edition one for Christmas and I love it! It is so rich and moisturising which is perfect for when my skin is dry, which it tends to be in the current cold conditions here in the UK. With this being said, my favourite Body Shop body butter is actually the passion fruit one as I much prefer fruity scents in general. Most of the other moisturisers I own (Dove and Garnier) are around the £5 mark, so spending £13 on one is a little steep for me but as a gift, it was a lovely treat and the tub lasts for ages, so in the end it is a worthwhile purchase if you are thinking of buying one for yourself!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Lip Crayon in 'The Redder The Better' - £5.99

As I have already written a seperate post on the Rimmel lip crayons here, I am not going to go too in detail about the product this time around. After loving the first shade I bought a few months ago called 'Rumour Has It,' I decided to go back and try another colour. 'The Redder The Better' is exactly as it seems; a really bright red colour that is really striking on the lips. As mentioned in my previous post, this crayon is really moisturising and glides on seamlessly. It also has a lovely vanilla/cocoa type scent to it which is a nice added touch. In addition, there is a lovely variation of colours to try and so there is something for everybody. I highly recommend this product!

The Body Shop White Musk Eau De Toilette (30ml) - £10.00
Last but not least is this lovely frangrance from The Body Shop. I love using this perfume on days when I'm not doing too much and do not want to reach for my more expensive perfumes. As you can probably guess from the title, this is a musky scent which has hints of flowers (lily, iris & rose) and vanilla running through it. I always get compliments when I wear this scent as it is quite strong at first but after a few hours, it wears off completely. So, although I love this eau de toilette, I would not recommend it if you need something a little more long-wearing.

I hope you have all enjoyed reading about my November favourites. I would love to know what your most-loved products have been this month, so please do not hesitate to leave a comment below :)
